Priscilla Presley, Still Mourning Elvis, Looks Back On Her Life in New Memoir

In a new memoir, “Softly, as I Leave You,” Presley delves into her post-Elvis life, a rollercoaster of love and loss.
By the time she left Elvis, Priscilla Beaulieu Presley had been with the rock legend almost half her life. They met, famously, in Germany in 1959. Elvis, on leave from his career as one of the biggest pop stars in the world, had been drafted into the Army. Priscilla was in ninth grade. “Elvis and Me,” her blockbuster 1985 memoir, detailed their courtship and marriage, the birth of their only child, Lisa Marie, their 1973 divorce and Elvis’s sudden death a few years later.
