Swan Lake, featuring the Guangdong Military
Acrobatic Troupe
Beloved both East and West, Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” has been
re-invented for a new era by the Guangdong Acrobatic Troupe of
China. Since its premier in 2005 “Swan Lake: The Acrobatics” has
created a sensation in China, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, Germany,
Hungary, Israel, and the United States.
The Prince sees his Princess in a dream, transformed into a swan. He
travels the world seeking her and finally meets her in the Forbidden
City in Beijing. Graced with the beauty of dance and the athleticism
of acrobatics, dozens of acrobats balance on poles, juggle balls,
swing from ropes, jump through hoops, dance and tumble to
Tchaikovsky’s timeless music. Their magic will take your breath away
in a once-in-a-lifetime blending of the best of the East and West.
"…a spellbinding blend of classical ballet and traditional Chinese
acrobatics ...”
The New York Times

transformed …”
The International Herald Tribune, January 10, 2006
